Rawlene H. Mcdowell “Lee” was born on December 1,1941 in Colorado Springs,
Colorado and passed away peacefully on April 17, 2 Rawlene H. Mcdowell “Lee” was
born on December 1,1941 in Colorado Springs, Colorado and passed away peacefully
on April 17, 2024, in Canon City, Colorado. Lee has lived in Canon City since 1976.
Previously she had lived in Alaska, Japan, and Colorado Springs. Lee worked as a
secretary for the United States Air Force and Town & Country Optical. While working at
Town & Country Optical she met and then married William “Bill” Mcdowell on October
23,1994. They were blessed to have 29 years together.
Lee was involved in the community of Canon City her whole life. She was involved with
the Kiwanis Club as a secretary for the club and participated in community events
sponsored by the Kiwanis. Lee was involved with the Altruistic Womens Society helping
to empower young women in today's workforce. Most recently Lee was a member of the
Connect Church in Canon City. She was in the church historical society and enjoyed her
time working with the church.
Lee is survived by her husband Bill and their children, Son Tom and Angie Willis,
Daughters Debra Price, Tracey and Henry Lundy and Sarah Mcdowell. Her
Grandchildren Jimmy and Jenna Willis, Steven and Elle Price, Dustin and Tristan Price
and Justice Cannon. Great Grandchildren Mackenzie, Brynn, Aubrelle, Teegan, Kynlee
and Blakely.
Lee’s last few years were spent living at the Hildebrand Care Center. She was spoiled
and loved by the staff with her coffee and 7 sugars. Yes 7 Sugars!!! She loved her
sweets and Chocolate was her favorite. Lee touched many lives during her lifetime. The
staff and residents of Hildebrand were touched by her love and prayers daily. Lee,
Mom, Grandma you will be missed.
Services will be held at the Connect Church 1500 N 10 th St, Canon City, CO 81212, on
Monday April 29, 2024. Visitation 10:00am, Services 11:00am and Graveside to follow.
