Wilma Bufmack

Wilma Bufmack, 75, of Rockvale, Colorado departed this life on April 5, 2024.

Wilma was born on July 7, 1948, in Canon City, Colorado to Francis & Melba Quinn (Cox).  Wilma lived in Westcliffe Colorado for several years, before relocating to Florence Colorado where she would attend school through the 8th grade.

Wilma wed the love of her life Albert in Westcliffe on July 19, 1966. Albert (Butch) and Wilma would spend 58 years together until Butch’s passing on February 22nd, 2024. Albert and Wilma renewed their wedding vows for their 50th wedding anniversary in Westcliffe Colorado. They raised 4 children together, Matthew, Albert, Michael, and Shannon from their Rockvale home. Wilma was a devoted wife and mom and spent her adult life as a homemaker.

Wilma was a talented lady who dabbled in several hobbies and crafts such as stained glass and card making. Wilma’s true creative passion was sewing, quilting, crocheting, and knitting, all of which she was very skilled. Wilma looked for any opportunity to sew something for someone, a birth, wedding, birthday, or just because. She taught herself to embroider and added that to almost everything she created. Wilma was strong and independent, never afraid to tackle a project whether it be a home repair, remodel or just a new craft she had seen in someone’s yard. Once her mind was set, it was going to happen. Wilma loved spending time in the mountains alongside a lake fishing.  Her favorite places were Taylor and Deweese reservoirs and she talked often of her memories of them both. She was a lifelong animal lover and especially loved her Yorkie pups. Wilma’s legacy of kindness and generosity will continue to inspire those whose lives she touched.

Wilma was proceeded in death by her husband Butch Bufmack and her mom and dad, Francis and Melba  Quinn. Wilma is survived by her children, Matthew (Kristi) Gray of Silver Cliffe, Albert (Kate) Bufmack Jr, Michael (Pamala) Bufmack, and Shannon (Kirk) Calhoun all from Pueblo West. Brother-in-law Daryl (Debbie) Bufmack of Rockvale and sister Marti Young of Arizona. Wilma had 10 grandchildren, Nicholas (Jessica), Desiree, Samantha, Little Matt, Meghan, Morgan, Bryce (Mikayla), Lindsay (Chase), Skyler (Angelea) and Delaney, and numerous great-grandchildren, 1 niece and 2 nephews.

A memorial service for Wilma will be held Friday, April 12, 2024, at 11:00 am at Wilson Funeral Home in Canon City followed by burial services at Union Highland Cemetery in Florence, CO., and a reception at the Elks Club in Florence, CO. from 1-4 pm.
