Carl Harvey Keller

Carl Harvey Keller, age 87, of Canon City, CO, went home to be with Jesus on Tuesday, October 1, 2019.

Carl was born on September 15, 1932, in Clarinda, IA to Arthur and Bernice Taylor Keller and was the ninth of ten children.  The Keller family moved to Denver, CO shortly after Carl’s birth.

Following high school, Carl enlisted in the US Air Force where he proudly served his country for four years as an air traffic controller at Lowry Air Force Base in Denver.

In 1955, Carl married Evelyn Yvonne (Bonnie) Brown and went to work for a small engine parts business in Denver.  Carl and Bonnie raised three children, Dale, Sondra and Carol, and in 1999, Carl retired as a manager from that same company and he and Bonnie moved to Canon City.

Carl was an exceptional man with a deep love for his Lord, his family, and any animal that crossed his path. He was a skilled carpenter and loved working on projects around the house. It was his great delight to take any of his six grandsons out to the garage to cut wood and pound nails.  His quiet sense of humor was legendary, and he loved to laugh.  Carl began and ended each day with prayer and his gentle and caring spirit was a daily testament to his faith.  He was greatly loved and highly treasured by all who had the privilege to know him.

Carl is survived by Bonnie, his wife of 64 years, son Dale Keller (Vicki) of Englewood, CO; daughter Sondra Gingery (Dave) of Delta, OH; daughter Carol Meurs (Tim) of Canon City, CO; grandsons Wayne Keller (Alicia) of Littleton, CO: David Keller (Sarah) of Commerce City, CO: Brock Gingery, Swanton, OH; Cody Gingery, Swanton, OH; John Danforth (Kara), Lincoln, NE; and Perry Danforth (Ashley), Canon City, CO; great-granddaughter Lillian June Danforth, Lincoln, NE; brother Bill Keller, Englewood, CO; and numerous nieces and nephews.
