Marie Gentina Hardesty

Marie Gentina Hardesty, 89, passed away November 6, 2013 in Bedford, TX. She was born in Boulder, CO on July 28, 1924 to Ubaldo and Angela Merlino. Marie was raised and educated in Canon City, and on June 24, 1944, she was united in marriage to Louis Warren Hardesty. Due to her husband's profession, she traveled and relocated extensively. This afforded her the opportunity of a myriad of challenges and responsibilities, which included careers from administrative assistant, to executive secretary positions, to finally an award winning sales representative for a computer supply company in Dallas, TX, from which she retired in 1993. Marie will always be remembered for her spunk, vigor, and loving generosity. She is survived by her children, Pam (Paul) Davie and Mark Hardesty both of Bedford, TX; grandchildren, Jennifer (David) Tompkins of Arlington, TX, Deborah (Jason) Knupp of Chicago, IL, Elizabeth Hardesty of Seattle, WA, and Rob Hardesty of Oakland, CA; great grandchildren, Jordan and Ryan Tompkins and Savannah and Sydney Knupp; and sister, Carmella Sauer of Florence, CO. She was preceded in death by her husband, Warren in 1977; her parents, three brothers, and one sister. Memorial Service will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 11, 2014 at the Holt Chapel of the Garden at 806 Macon Avenue in Canon City, CO. Arrangements are under the care of Holt Family Funeral Home.
