Scott "Slim" Roland Nash

Scott “Slim” Roland Nash went to be with the Lord June 17, 2019. He was born November 9, 1971 to Victor and Phyllis Nash in Grandby, Minnesota.

Slim spent much of his younger years watching old westerns admiring the old cowboy way of life and his idol, John Wayne.

Slim made his living being a cowboy and offering farrier services.  He was very passionate about changing the world and helping people. He would often do work for free for those in need. He would willingly hand over the coat on his back and was known to offer people a warm place to stay without hesitation.  He was well known for having a special charisma about him.

He worked many ranches throughout Texas moving cattle. Slim loved working ranch jobs with his wife Deanna and embarking on their many journeys. He loved all animals dearly and always put their wellbeing above his own no matter the circumstances. Slim was very passionate about the western way of life and keeping it alive. 

Slim was fearless when it came to a mean cow or an untamed horse. He never backed down from a challenge and always took it head on.  He loved being in the wide open with the sound of mooing cattle and the sound of a running creek on hot days.

He will forever be fondly remembered riding his beloved horse and longtime companion, Beavis, riding through town with a smile on his face and a friendly wave to passerby’s. He also loved and adored his Cow Dogs, “Bud Bud” and Bailey.  He treated them like they were part of the family and was rarely seen without them.

Slim is survived by his loving wife, Deanna Nash; daughters, Rylee Bush-Nash and Breanna Smallwood; mother, Phyllis Nash; brothers, Pat, Paul (Elizabeth) and Kevin; sisters, Margaret and Noreen; grandchildren, Tommy “Buckaroo” Smallwood, Gemma Bush; along with aunts, uncles, cousins and many dear friends.

Slim will be dearly missed.
