Albert Melvin Bufmack, 79, of Rockvale, Colorado passed away on February 22, 2024. He was born on September 16, 1944, in Rockvale, Colorado to Albert Alvin & Carneil Virginia (Nelson) Bufmack. Albert (Butch or Buffy, as he was known by most family and friends) attended and graduated from Florence High School. He met the love of his life Wilma (Quinn) and they were wed in Westcliffe on July 19, 1966.
After graduating high school Butch immediately went to work in the coal mines, followed by a career with the CF&I Steel Mill as a rail mill operator, from which he would retire after 32 ½ years. Aside from watching his kids play ball while they were growing up, then eventually his grandkids, Butch enjoyed trips to Cripple Creek, fishing, and watching the Rockies, Broncos and NASCAR.
Albert (Butch) is survived by his wife Wilma, brother Daryl (Debbie) Bufmack of Rockvale, and sister-in-law Marti Young of Arizona. His children, Matt (Kristi) Gray of Silver Cliffe, Albert (Kate) Bufmack Jr, Michael (Pamala) Bufmack, and Shannon (Kirk) Calhoun all from Pueblo West. Albert had 10 grandchildren, Nicholas (Jessica), Desiree, Samantha, Matt, Meghan, Morgan, Bryce (Mikayla), Lindsay (Chase), Skyler (Angelea), and Delaney. He also had numerous great-grandchildren and 2 nephews.
Albert was preceded in death by his parents.
Although the family appreciates your thoughts and gestures, the family requests family and friends to refrain from any food items or meals due to diet restrictions.
A memorial service for Albert will be held on Friday, March 1, 2024. Rosary at 9:20 am and Mass at 10:00 am at St. Benedict Catholic Church in Florence followed by burial services at Union Highland Cemetery in Florence, CO.
