Anthony Richard Esquibel, 69, of Florence, Colorado, passed away surrounded by his family on December 10, 2023, in Colorado Springs. He was born on August 21, 1954, in Florence, Colorado.
Anthony attended Florence High School, graduating in 1972. He had a successful career as a Control Room Operator at Holcim Cement plant, where he dedicated 43 years of his life. He was known for his safety and commitment to his work.
Anthony met his soul mate and married the love of his life Glenette on April 18th, 1981. They raised their 3 sons in Florence, CO, where Anthony lived his entire life. In his free time, Anthony enjoyed spending quality time with his family, he coached his sons in various sports and when he wasn’t coaching, he supported them in the stands. Anthony loved traveling across the states to attend Josh's Hillclimb races and was proud to be his #1 fan and pit crew. He found great happiness in spending time with his grandsons and cheering them on in their activities. He also found joy in golfing, fishing, and camping. He was a pillar of the community, and he had a heart of gold as he selflessly volunteered at the Florence Elks Lodge #611 and the Florence Senior Community Center.
Anthony is survived by his loving wife of 42 years: Glenette Esquibel; their sons; Josh (Randi) Esquibel, Mark (Heather) DiOrio, and Scott (Jodi) DiOrio. He was a cherished grandfather to Anthony Nolan Esquibel, Joshua Esquibel Jr., Collin DiOrio, Cash Anderson, Dylan DiOrio, and Dayten DiOrio. Anthony also leaves behind his niece: Heidi (John) Anthony. Anthony's family meant everything to him.
He is preceded in death by his father: Benny “Snipe” Esquibel; his mother: Rose Esquibel; his brother: Benny "Pinky" Esquibel; and his sisters: Toni Miner, and Marty Bellino.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St Benedict's Catholic Church, located at 622 W 2nd St, Florence, CO 81226, on Thursday, December 21st, at 10 am. With a reception at the Florence Elks Club, 131 E Front St, Florence, CO 81226 following the service. Please join the family in remembering and honoring the life of Anthony Richard Esquibel.
The Holt Family Funeral Home in Canon City, CO is assisting with the arrangements for Anthony's passing. The Esquibel family greatly appreciates their support and guidance during this difficult time.

Anthony will be deeply missed by his family and all who knew him.
