Barbara Ellen (Woolley) Engle

Barbara Ellen (Woolley) Engle was born in Rome, New York on August 14, 1938. She passed away in Cañon City on July 19, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of warmth that will be forever treasured. 

Barbara enjoyed spending time with her family, friends, the many fur babies she took in, and her fellow bowlers. Her legacy lives on in the countless lives she touched and the memories she created. She will be deeply missed. She will be fondly remembered for her laughter and her love of animals. She enjoyed camping, fishing, her bowling victories but, above all, her kind and caring spirit.

 Barbara was an amazing mother to her son, Don Vendetti; a beloved grandmother to her grandson, Anthony Vendetti; and a wonderful aunt to her numerous nieces and nephews. 

Barbara is survived by her loving husband, Chuck Engle, her son; Don Vendetti (Tiina Oviir), her grandson; Anthony Vendetti, her sister; Susan (Don) Welch, brother; Fred (Teri) Woolley, her nieces and nephews; Wendy (Patrick) Kennedy, Tracey (Daryl) Roller, Kristy Beasley, Jeffrey (Kathy) Bird, Eric (Kimberly) Bird, Jennifer Welch (Justin Douglas), Alexander (Katy) Welch, Stephanie (Andy) Calmeyn, Rebecca (Kevin) Konczalski, Christopher Woolley (Natasha Grimm), and Caitlin Woolley (Jordan Scott). 

Barbara is preceded in death by her parents, Austin and Elsie Woolley, and sister, Joan Krahl. 

A Celebration of Life service will take place on Saturday, October 12, 2024, from 2:00 to 4:00 pm at the Holiday Inn Express in Cañon City, Colorado. In honor of Barbara’s memory, donations may be made to the Humane Society of Fremont County, 110 Rhodes Ave, Cañon City, Colorado, 81212.
