Beatriz Martinez Obituary

Our family is saddened to announce the loss of our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt, Beatriz Armida “Tichy” Tarin Martinez. She passed away to her lord and savior Jesus Christ on June 21, 2021.

Beatriz was born September 17, 1939, in Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico, where she was also raised. It was also where she met her husband Jose Adolfo “Adolph” Martinez. They fell in love and married in Juarez, May 27, 1961. Together, they started their lives in Colorado and raised seven children. Beatriz was deeply involved in the lives of all her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and they were her true joy in life. Beatriz also dearly enjoyed watching movies with her family, cooking for, and welcoming everyone who entered her home, and was an avid Denver Broncos fan.

Beatriz graduated High School in El Paso, Texas and earned her BA degree from the University of Southern Colorado in Sociology.  Beatriz worked at Rocky Mountain Behavioral Health as a CACIII contracted worker with Colorado DOC and was well respected.

Beatriz is survived by her daughter, Lisa (Michael) Roslin of Colorado Springs; sons, Leonard Martinez of Penrose, Lawrence (Lydia) Martinez of Pueblo, Adrian (Janet) Martinez of Pueblo, Brian Martinez of Florence, and Dominic (Ashley) Martinez of Florence; brother, Luis Alfonso “Tundy” Tarin of Juarez, Mexico; two granddaughters whom she raised, Heather and Andrea; along with 20 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren; several sisters/brothers-in-law and nieces and nephews who adored her.

She is preceded in death by her beloved Adolpho, daughter, Laura Beatriz, and parents Alfonso and Beatriz (Marquez) Tarin.
