Ben Bosley Obituary

Our beloved son, Ben Taylor Bosley was called home by his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on January 23, 2023.

Ben was born on December 9, 1990 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Dirk and Leah Bosley.  Ben’s early childhood was spent in Oklahoma until his family moved to Penrose, Colorado when he was 5 years old.  Ben began his schooling as a kindergartner at Penrose Elementary School and continued on to graduate from Florence High School in 2009.

Ben was proud of being a Florence Husky.  He earned the honor of All-State Lineman of the year in 2008, as well as lettering in basketball and baseball.  Ben was an award winning welding student receiving Welder of the Year two consecutive years.  During the summers he worked as a lifeguard at The Florence Pool.

Following high school, Ben attended Western State College in Gunnison, Colorado with a football scholarship.  Ben later transferred to Colorado State University Pueblo where he earned his Bachelor’s degree in business.

Ben then continued to work at CSU Pueblo in the mail room as well as grounds maintenance.  He worked for Wal-Mart in Canon City for approximately 2 years as Produce Manager, as well as Wolking Brothers before joining his dad at Leader Industrial Supply in Canon City where he worked as Operations Manager.

He was a member of First Southern Baptist Church in Florence and was very active in the AWANA Program as a youth. He also attended Vineyard Christian Fellowship in Canon City for several years.

Ben was an avid outdoorsman.  He considered himself a mountain man and excelled at hunting, fishing, camping, and survival skills.  He also had a love for animals, particularly his Labrador retrievers.  He was fascinated by insects and the beauty of nature.  He especially enjoyed cooking great food for his family and friends.

Everybody loved Ben.  His comedic personality was infectious.  His intention each day was making people laugh or smile.

He truly loved The Lord and his family. He is survived by his parents, Dirk and Leah Bosley, sister Gayle (and Jacob Sanford and their children Luke, Owen, Ryan, and Abby Sanford); his brother Hank and sister Claire Bosley.  In addition, Ben was blessed with aunts, uncles, and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Harold and Dolores Bosley and Jim and Sue Huffman. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, February 3rd, 2023 at the Vineyard Church: 245 S. Raynolds Ave in Cañon City.
