Betty Day Obituary

Betty Day was a petite and elegant lady who was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on January 11, 1934, and died on April 20, 2025, in Canon City, Colorado.

At an early age, she married the love of her life, Dr. Ralph Day. They were a very adventurous couple, and together they made the decision to leave their home country to benefit his career as a physician.

They spent several years in Peru first and then settled in Boise, Idaho. He opened a Naturopathic Medical Clinic, and she worked side by side with him as his Medical Assistant. They run a very successful business as patients appreciate their sincere service and loving care.

After their retirement, they relocated to Florence, CO, where they spent many years enjoying life with each other. After his passing, she remained faithful to him and continued living independently in their little home for more than a decade..

When her health started to deteriorate, she first moved to Canon City to Friendship House, and when her needs increased, to Hildebrand Care Center. She made many friends there, and all who took care of her praised her and developed a bond beyond the care of her physical needs.

She gifted us with her beautiful smile and her grateful and cheerful demeanor.

She always felt loved by her family, husband, friends, and caregivers.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Bernardo Alfredo Patitucci and Alcira Caride. Sisters Alcira Luisa and Irma Elvira, brothers-in-law, Donato Arario and Armando Borrello, and her friend Charles Booth.

She is survived by her nieces in Argentina, Silvia Edith Arario and Sandra Karem Borrello, her special friends, Reina Booth and her children, Holly and David Booth, Patricia Sabatini, Steven Clayton, and their children, Victoria and Elizabeth Dube.

We will have a celebration of her life on May 3, 2025, at 10:30 AM at Hildebrand Care Center’s Chapel, 1401 Phay Avenue, Canon City, Colorado. Chaplain Naomi Monclova will officiate the ceremony.

Snacks and refreshments will be served afterwards.

In lieu of flowers, consider a small donation to Sangre the Cristo Care Center.
