Blaine Heckart

 Blaine Eugene Heckart, a long-time resident of Canon City, passed unexpectedly on January 11, 2025 in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Blaine was born in Riverton, Wyoming on February 15, 1960 to Gerald and Shirley Heckart (Beers). He graduated from the University of Wyoming in 1985 with a degree in Education. He moved to Canon City, Colorado shortly after, where he met Kathi Gallop, and they wed in 1989. On October 19, 1990 and September 22,1992 respectively, they welcomed their two sons, who were the pride of his life.

Blaine spent his life working in the food management industry, providing many Canon City youth with their first job and his mentorship. He was an avid “foodie” and loved trying new restaurants and delicious dishes, as well as cooking for himself and his loved ones. Blaine was a sports enthusiast, watching nearly every football game and passionately rooting for all the professional Colorado teams, the Broncos being his favorite, along with his beloved Wyoming Cowboys.

Blaine is survived by his father, Jerry Heckart; wife, Kathi Heckart (Gallop); sons, Kramer Heckart (Alyssa Heckart) and Brooks Heckart (Taylor Heckart); and his grandchildren, Mary-Grace, Elisabet, and Donnie; along with numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and the entire community.

Services will be held on Friday, January 17, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Wilson Funeral Home: 1449 S 9th St, Canon City, Colorado. Reception to follow.
