Bud Lee Chess, 93, passed away on May 14, 2023, in Canon City, CO. He was a brick plant worker, correctional officer, and county commissioner.
Bud enjoyed being an outdoorsman and loved collecting antiques and coins.
He is survived by Betty Chess, Buck (Jane) Chess, Irene Pierce, Maureen Broughton, Ben Chess, Bob Chess, and (Misty Waldschmidt). He is also survived by his 13 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild. Bud is preceded in death by his father, Clarence Chess; mother, Ethel Gately; Dick Chess, Elsie Chess, Joe Chess, Gene Gately; daughter, Diana White; and grandson, Bradley Chess.
Services will be held at Garden Park Cemetery, Saturday, May 27, 2023, at 11:00 am with Cattlewomen serving lunch at Irene Pierce’s house following the service.
