Carmen De Biaso Obituary

Our dear Mom and Grandma Carmen JoAnne De Biaso sadly passed away in her home with family by her side on October 26th, 2024 at the age of 85. She was a wonderful mom, grandma, sister, aunt, and friend who was always available when anyone needed her.

Carmen was an outgoing, loving person who loved nothing more than spending time with her family and friends. She lived a simple life but was not a simple woman as she worked hard, played hard, and lived life to the fullest. She loved cooking, having fun, and caring for her family and friends. She was always there ready to lend a helping hand to all who knew her. With unwavering devotion and a boundless heart, she loved her family and friends unconditionally.

Carmen was the Director of Medical Records at St Joseph’s Hospital in Florence, CO, St Thomas More Hospital in Canon City, CO, and the Colorado Mental Health / State Hospital in Pueblo, CO until she retired in 2019 at the age of 79. She was active in the great community of Florence, CO participating in the Rialto Red Brick Players, Florence Elks Lodge, Sons & Daughters of Italy, ESA Sorority, St Jude’s, and Relay for Life. She loved to cook, do crafts, and have a great time with her family and friends. Carmen wrote the Tesori di Familia (Family Treasures) Cookbook in 2010. The 175-page Cookbook is filled with hundreds of recipes dedicated to her Big Loud Italian Family with the motto “Buon Cibo, Juoni Amici, Bei Momenti” Good Friends, Good Food, Good Times. Her infectious positive attitude radiated when she was spending time with the people in her life. She never wanted to miss anything!

Carmen was born on May 29, 1939, in Coal Creek, CO to Joseph and June (Porta) De Biaso, who both preceded her in death. Her mom died when Carmen was only 28 years old and she was looking forward to seeing her dad and mom again in heaven. She was also like a daughter to Camillo (Uncle Tuffy) and Anne (Auntie) DeBiaso who preceded her death. She was also preceded in death by her granddaughter Carly Becco, her sister in law Sandra De Biaso and brother in law Albert Becco. She lived in the community of Florence for 85 years and in the same house where she was a devoted mother to her three children Vicki Becco Ropp (Steve) of Florence, CO, Greg Becco (Sherry) of Phoenix, AZ, and Jeff Becco (JoEllen) of Colorado Springs, CO. She also was a dearly loved Mother in law to Steve Ropp, Sherry Becco and JoEllen Becco. One of Carmen’s (Grandma MeMe) biggest joys in life was spending time and taking care of her Grandchildren Justin Becco of Denver, CO, Brooke Becco of Denver, CO, Blake Becco of San Diego, CA and Brady Becco of San Francisco, CA. She loved to babysit her grandchildren, spend holidays with them, and never missed an important event in their lives. Carmen loved, gave, and served her children and grandchildren unconditionally with her big heart. Carmen is survived by her loving brother Joseph DeBiaso of Phoenix, AZ with whom she had a close relationship with and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Carmen also loved her furry pet family members who were always by her side. She truly loved everyone in her family.

We will always cherish the moments and memories we were able to spend with our mom, grandma for the past 85 years. She had a good time in life and traveled all over the USA, Mexico, and Europe with her family. Carmen always had a smile on her face, a great sense of humor, and a positive attitude. She was such a loving positive influence on her children and grandchildren. Carmen was given the nickname the GOAT by her family and she truly was the GOAT “The Greatest of All Time” to her family. We know she is in heaven having a good time and we know we will see our Mom, Grandma MeMe aka The GOAT again.

The Family would like to invite all of her family and friends to Carmen’s Celebration of Life at the Florence Elks Lodge, 131 E Front St. Florence, CO on Saturday, November 9th, 2024 from 2 to 5 pm.
