Chalyn Frederick

Chalyn Frederick, 66, formerly of Cañon City, passed away February 22, 2021 in Centennial, Colorado.  Chalyn was born in Roosevelt, Utah to Lois and Fritz Hansen on April 23, 1954.  She married Ronald D. Frederick Jr. on November 23, 1973.  They were solemnized in the Atlanta Temple on November 30, 1985.

Chalyn and Ron moved to Cañon City after he retired from the US Army.  Chalyn was the Principal’s Secretary at Canon City High School from 1994 until 2017.  She loved being a CCHS Tiger.  She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served as Relief Society President, Primary President, Chorister, and a prison service missionary.

She is survived by her mother, Lois Hansen; children, Laura (Edward) Boyer, Ronald III (Kathy), and Fritz; brothers, JC Hansen, David (Lenora) Hansen; grandchildren, Mikayla, Kourtney, Jared, Zachary; and great-granddaughter Adelyn.

Services will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 1435 Elm Ave., in Cañon City on Monday, March 1, 2021 at 11 a.m.  Burial will follow at Lakeside Cemetery.
