Christopher Reed

Christopher J. Reed entered Heaven on Friday, June 2, 2023, at 7:15 p.m. after a difficult illness. He is no longer suffering and is now in the presence of his Savior. Christopher was born on February 1, 1955, in Cedar Rapids, IA to William and Shirley Reed. He worked as an auto mechanic, spent 10 years at the Simpich Character Doll Shop in Colorado Springs, and drove for many years as a long-haul truck driver. Christopher was united in marriage to Rhonda (Mark) Ricklefs Liposcak in 1973 and they had two daughters during their 9 years together. On June 14, 2003, Christopher married Patricia Ouellet and they enjoyed their life together for almost 20 years. Christopher accepted Jesus Christ as Savior on June 14, 1982, and was baptized that same evening. He loved to read his Bible and attend Church when the doors were open. He loved fixing old cars, especially old Willys Wagons. He lived in Colorado for over 25 years and loved to go up to the mountains in his Jeep with his friends. Christopher is survived by his wife, Patricia; children, Jennifer (Terry) Topping, and Christina Burnell; stepchildren, Andy Cumbo, Jeanette (John) McDonald, and Joseph (Katy) Cumbo. Christopher was blessed with 15 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers, Mike (Susan) Meinert, William (Debra) Reed, David Reed; and sisters, Linda (Kermit) Tietz, and Shirley Reed. Christopher is preceded in death by his father, William, and mother, Shirley Reed. A Celebration of Life with be held at Calvary Baptist Church in Canon City, CO on Saturday, July 22, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. Christopher’s life verse is Psalm 66:16: Come and hear, all ye that fear God, and I will declare what He hath done for my soul.
