Claud John Lovell

Our days are a little less bright since the passing of our brother and friend, Claud John Lovell, or Junior, as he was known to family. Claud was born to Claud and Dorothy Lovell on October 22, 1949, in Independence, Kansas. He departed this earth on June 27, 2023, after several years of health issues incurred after a knee replacement.

Claud was a very hard worker. He started very young, working alongside his dad, where he learned a great work ethic. His mother also was a great influence in his life, as she worked for several local families in Canon City.

Claud worked several places as a young man and eventually found his niche at Jim’s Tire Service. He was an excellent employee for them for nearly 40 years.

Junior leaves behind his sister, Carolyn Lovell; brother and sister-in-law, Ron, and Julie Lovell; and nephew, Michael (Michelle) Nelson, and family. He also leaves behind three nieces, Connie Nelson, Shelee, and Samantha Lovell; and two other nephews, Brian (Keli) and Brad Busch. Junior also leaves behind his last puppy dog, Polar.

We’ll miss Junior’s kind heart and wonderful sense of humor. His friends will remember him for his lighthearted laughter and fun attitude in life. His devotion to family exemplified who he was, and he would be laughing now and saying, “Don’t use those big words” as he was a very humble and sweet man.

We thank those who helped with his care through the last few years. He requested no service to be held and we will honor that request. In lieu of flowers, please donate in his name to the Fremont County Humane Society.
