Craig Colon Obituary

Craig Allan Colon

May 25, 1967 – May 2, 2021

Craig Allan Colon went to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 2, 2021, at the age of 53. Craig was born on May 25, 1967, in Florence, Colorado and is preceded in death by his father Charles “Chuck” Arvid Colon (2012) and his mother Sandra “Sandy” Arlene Colon (2019) and he looks forward to being with them for eternity.

Craig was a free-spirited father, son, brother, and friend who had a giving heart the size of his beloved state of Colorado and its beautiful mountains. He always wanted to help those who needed it and would sacrifice all to help anyone to ensure they were taken care of, generally at his personal expense. He is now in a better place to be with his parents who he deeply missed.

Craig grew up in Canon City and attended St. Michael’s Catholic School, Canon City Junior High School and graduated from Canon City High School in 1986. In high school, he was a member of VICA and was very proud of being on the team that constructed a couple of homes in Canon City. After graduation he went to Wyoming Technical Institute (now WyoTech) in Laramie, Wyoming to study auto body repair and painting. Craig was always working with his dad in the garage on multiple cars and trucks. He was especially proud to work with his dad on a 1947 Ford F100 that they had been restoring for many years. Craig spent several years working as a truck driver in Colorado and in Arizona.

As a member of St. John Lutheran Church, he was always willing to assist in many ways within the community. His daughters Hallie Mae and Linnea Jewel were baptized at St. John’s.

Craig is survived by his beautiful daughters, Hallie Mae (2007) and Linnea Jewel (2008), his brother Charles “Chuck” Arvid Colon, III (1966), his sister-in-law Lorie Ann (1966), his nephew Charles “Chip” Arvid, IV (1995) and his niece Leah Ray (1998) as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins throughout the country.

Interment was conducted at Lakeside Cemetery on Monday, June 14, 2021, and attended by Craig’s immediate family. Arrangements were handled through Holt Funeral Home. Online condolences at www.holtfamilyfuneralhomes.com.
