Daniel Podzemny

Daniel Podzemny, 83, of Amarillo Texas, died Sunday, October 29, 2023, at Skyline Ridge Nursing and Rahab Center in Canon City CO. He was born in Canyon TX on December 9, 1939. Dan was married to Virginia Podzemny for 63 years. They resided in Amarillo, TX, until moving to Colorado with their son for the last five years. Dan was a computer repairman and later a school bus driver. He enjoyed camping, off-roading, and traveling.
He is survived by four children, Susan Olson and her husband Kevin of Rochester, MN, Donald Podzemny and his wife Jacquita of Wichita Falls, TX, Dennis Podzemny and his wife Tammy of Canon City, CO, and Melinda Beyer and her husband Brian of Carrollton, TX.  He had ten grandchildren Matthew Olson, Jeremy Olson, Daniel Olson, Kelly Podzemny, Rachel Smith, LeAndra Madsen, Justin Podzemny, D’Niessa Slocum, Maegan Howard, and Bryan Renfroe, and had twenty-eight great-grandchildren. 

 He is survived by the following siblings: Eugene Podzemny, Linda Rieser, Diana Harp, Sharon Childers, Carolyn Hodges, Mary Buck, Gary Podzemny and Tim Podzemny. His passing was predeceased by his wife Virginia Podzemny, a daughter Anita, his parents, Ervin and Phyllis Podzemny, and two brothers Donald and David Podzemny. 
The memorial services will be held Friday, December 1, 2023, 10:30 a.m. Mass
St. Mary’s Cathedral 1200 S Washington St, Amarillo, TX 79102
Interment will follow in Llano Cemetery
