Debbie Marsicano Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Debbie (Thorup) Marsicano, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Debbie was born on January 4th, 1949, in Carroll, Iowa, to Al and Arlene (Hamers) Thorup. She later moved to Greeley, Colorado where she received her Bachelor's degree from the University of Northern Colorado.  While in college, she met the love of her life, Drew Marsicano. They married in December 1975 in Greeley, Colorado, and built a beautiful life together, centered around love, family, and hard work.

In January of 1978, Debbie and Drew welcomed their twin boys, Nicholas and Benjamin, into the world. From that moment on, her greatest joy and purpose became raising and nurturing her sons. She also supported Drew in growing his building company, MBC Homes, before working for Park Center Water District, where she dedicated many years of service. Debbie retired in 2014, embracing a well-earned life of relaxation, travel, and family time.

Retirement brought Debbie the freedom to focus on what she loved - her beloved dog, Gypsy, her cherished grandchildren, and the adventures of travel. She found immense joy in the presence of her four grandchildren, Avery, Reese, Mackenzie, and Connor, showering them with love, wisdom, and laughter.

Debbie leaves behind a family who adored her: her sons, Nicholas (Bryana) Marsicano and Benjamin Marsicano of Cañon City, CO; her treasured grandchildren, Avery, Reese, Mackenzie, and Connor; and her sister, Gail Koehler of Surprise, AZ. She is reunited in peace with her husband, Drew Marsicano; her parents, Al and Arlene Thorup; and her brothers, Chris, David, and Dale Thorup, along with her in-laws, John and Rosalind Marsicano and brother-in-law, Joe Danner.

A private memorial will be held, with a family gathering to be announced at a later date.

Debbie’s laughter, kindness, and devotion to her loved ones will forever be remembered. Her spirit will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her.
