Dorcas "Dee" Schneider

Dorcas M. Schneider (Dee), 86, of Cañon City, CO passed away on May 12, 2024. Born to Vergil and Freida Orcutt on May 15, 1937, in Pueblo, CO and later moved to Lime, CO.

Dorcas is survived by her son, Jody (Cathy) Jahn; daughter, Vickie (Greg) Van Riper; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brothers, Bob (Doris) Orcutt and Jim (Irene) Orcutt.

She rejoins her son, Tim Jahn; daughter, Michelle Youngblood; sister, Vergia Stacy; and brother, Cub Orcutt.

Dorcas spent much of her life in Pueblo, Florence, and the Cañon City area. She also loved the time she lived in Silverton, Creede and Lake City, CO. She loved the mountains and enjoyed hunting in her younger years. Horses were a passion she shared with her family and friends. She loved to experience new adventures and opportunities throughout her life.

Her vibrant personality attracted and impacted many people’s lives every day. She will be missed by those who know her.

The family plans to have a Celebration of Life at a later date and time.
