Dorleen was born April 7, 1950, in Eads, Colorado to Emerson and Georgia Ruth (Decker) Griffin. Following graduation from Ft Morgan High School, Class of 1968, Dorleen married John Vaughan and they celebrated their 55th Wedding Anniversary just prior to John’s passing on June 28.
Dorleen and John owned several businesses including the Sears Store in Canon City. Dorleen also sold Avon Cosmetics. She loved to watch the Hallmark Channel and was known for her gifts of Hallmark Ornaments and cards to family and friends.
Surviving is their daughter, Heather (Chuck) McDuffie; grandson Justin (Danielle); and three great-grandchildren - Brooklyn, Kaiden, and Tucker. Also surviving are sisters Diane (Albert) Wurst, Donna Cullen, Connie Ziolkowski; and brother Dale (Janice) Griffin. She is preceded in death by her were her parents, Emerson Griffin and Georgia Young; and brother, Duane Griffin.
She will be missed by her two cocker spaniels - Coco and Patches.
A Celebration of Life for both John and Dorleen will be held in Tribune, KS in October.
