Edna Alice (Rider) Barlow of Cañon City, CO, entered eternal rest on October 26, 2023. Edna was born on February 18, 1924, in Tecumseh, Oklahoma to Clyde Orville and Corah Ann (Barnett) Rider. She grew up in Campo, Colorado.
She married Nat Leroy Ownbey on September 24, 1947. They had two sons, Robert Leroy Ownbey on August 7, 1948, and William “Hop” Ownbey on December 21, 1951. Nat passed away on May 25, 1978, in Houston, Texas. Later in life, Edna married Ray Robert Barlow. Ray passed away in 2005.
She is survived by her sons: Robert (Corine) Ownbey and William (Rhonda) Ownbey; Grandchildren: Jeremy Cole Ownbey, Gary Nathan Ownbey, William George Ownbey, Katherine Alice Anderson, Shane Michael Ownbey, Valerie Kay Murillo and Melissa Nemcik; 13 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and good friend, Cathi Jamison.
Edna is preceded in death by her parents, 6 brothers and 2 sisters.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00pm, Thursday, November 2, 2023 at Mountain Vale Cemetery, 1700 Chestnut Ave., Cañon City, Colorado.
