Elaine Marie Greenlee passed away at her home in Canon City, Colorado on August 7, 2025, she was 86 years old. Elaine was born on January 25, 1939 in Kremmling, Colorado and was raised in Rifle, Colorado. She met her husband Dr. Lynn Greenlee in Cortez Colorado and they married June 10, 1958. Elaine is preceded in death by her father, Maurice Wilson; mother, Sue Massey; brother, Maurice “Bud” Wilson Jr.; and her oldest son, Lynn “Bud” Greenlee. She is survived by her husband of 67 years Dr. Lynn Greenlee; sons, Glen Greenlee, Ben Greenlee (Sheri), Matt Greenlee (Heidi Marshall); daughter, Julie Greenlee; as well as 8 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Elaine was always a force to be reckoned with. Whether it was commitment to her family and friends, her commitment to her business or her commitment to the community, you knew that you were in goods hands if she was involved. Some of her achievements include president of the Chamber of Commerce, founding member of the Colorado State Prison Museum, commercial Realtor, and fund raising for many of the local nonprofits. She received her master’s degree in accounting at the age of 53 and passed the CPA exam. Later in her life she had the opportunity to focus on one of her great loves of growing plants and receive the recognition of master gardener.
Visitation will be on Thursday, August 14, 2025 from 4-6 p.m. at Holt Family Funeral Home: 806 Macon Ave. Canon City. Celebration of Life for Elaine will be on Friday, August 15, 2025 at 11a.m. at the Seventh Day Adventist Church: 3180 E Main St. Canon City, CO. Reception to follow. Arrangements entrusted to Holt Family Funeral Home.
