Elizabeth Marie Dodds Meirhaeghe passed away on July 27, 2024, in Canon City, Colorado. She was born to Florence Dodds and J.B. Overfelt in Denver, Colorado on August 1, 1945. She had many roles and titles during her life – daughter, cousin, grandchild, mother-in-law, foster parent, friend, feminist, survivor, and fighter. Professionally, she worked as a dietician, sheriff matron, captain of the jail, department of Corrections captain, and Department of Corrections case manager. The titles that brought her the most joy and pride were Wife, Mother, and Nana. She is survived by her beloved husband Aime Meighaeghe and children Cindy McFarland, Pam Foraker, Katey Harris, Alyssa Drew, Alta Andrews, Leona Talbott, Brandi Monthei, Debbie Harmon, Randy Meirhaeghe, Tara Henry, and Joe Goldman. Grandchildren include Curtis Andrews, Ricky McFarland, Chad McFarland, Megan Foraker, Nicole Foraker, Rebekah Gray, T.J. She was preceded in death by her parents, Florence Dodds Watkins and J.B. Overfelt, and two husbands, Alton G. Andrews, and Glen D. Holloway. She was a foster mother to many that she continued to carry in her heart. She taught us to squeeze every moment of happiness from life and to hold on to love in all its many forms. We will always carry her in our hearts.
