Ernest Kibel Obituary

Today we are here to celebrate the life of Ernest Carl Kibel. He was born on March 21, 1950 in Yuma, CO. Ernest gained his wings on May 24, 2025.

Gosh, where does one start to even try to describe the character of one man who had such an impact on so many lives?

He was the first born son to Carl and Colleen Kibel , a big brother role model to all of his younger siblings, Bonnie (Clay), Susie (Vance), Mike(Tamie), Kristie (Ben), Cindie (Grant), Julie (Ken), Jody (Pam) and youngest sister, Heidi. He was an amazing dad to his kids, Becky and John; and grandpa to all of his grandkids and great-grandkids. He was Crazy Uncle E to numerous nieces and nephews, Ern or Ernesto to his in-laws, Crazy Ernie to his cousins, aunts and uncles, "Pops, Papa, Dad" to his son Patrick and finally, devoted husband, Ernie, to his dear wife, Julia M. Kibel.

However many roles Ernie played in his lifetime, the one thing we always knew about Ernie, besides his joy for life, was his never-ending devotion to always be there at the drop of a hat for whomever, whenever, wherever!

To say that Ernie lit up a room would be an understatement. Ernie "was the light in the room". His light shone on everyone and he made everyone in the room feel like they were someone special!

To say Ernie lived his life to the fullest would be an understatement. He was up for anything and everything. He never passed up an opportunity to enjoy his next exciting adventure in life.

He loved motorcycle riding, bowling, fishing, boating, roller skating, Karaoke, dancing, love for those Broncos, hunting, video games, camping, and bonfires with his 2 A.M Tarzan holler that you could hear through the mountain valleys. The list of activities are endless.

However, towards the end of Ernie's life, life just kind of caught up with him. Dementia came into his life and slowed everything down. He had a hard time remembering a lot of things and had a hard time carrying on a conversation, but through it all, he never stopped loving everyone.

His eyes would sparkle and his face would grin from ear to ear. That's how Ernie will always be remembered. Full of love, laughter, and fun.

Rest easy Ernie.

You will be missed by many!
