Eva Lou Tillerson passed into the hands of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ August 29, 2024, at the
age of 94. Born August 1, 1930, to Emory and Ethelda Green in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Eva Lou
began her life in Duncan Oklahoma where she was active at a young age in her church and clubs at
school. This attitude of active involvement carried with her throughout her life. At the age of 17 she
met the love of her life, Milton Tillerson, and started their life adventure which lasted for nearly 72
years. Together their spirit of adventure carried them from state to state until they finally settled
down in Canon City to start their business Alpine Drilling Service in 1970. Eva Lou put a complete
effort into everything she put her hands to. If idle hands are the devil’s workshop, then hers were
truly God’s instruments. Whether raising her three girls or volunteering at her church or various
community services, she made order out of chaos and seemed to spread life wherever she went.
Her faith in Jesus Christ was evident in her life and carried her through all of life’s ups and downs.
She was a living testament to all who witnessed that God’s promises are real and can always be
depended on. She leaned on those promises through the death of her infant son, a battle through
cancer and other struggles. She continued to share with those of us blessed to know her that He is
always faithful. Eva Lou was preceded in death by her beloved husband Milton and is survived by
her sister, Virginia Mae Sudberry of Oklahoma, three daughters, Cynthia (Mike) Schoonover, Susan
(Stan) Stockton, and Nancy Greenstreet. Eight grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and a handful
of great-great-grandchildren. Services will be held on September 6th, 10am at Lakeside Cemetery,
Visitation will be held Wednesday September 4th 5pm – 7pm at Holt Family Funeral home.
