Florine Jordan Orona, a woman of passion and love, passed from this earth into the loving arms of Jesus on October 17, following a short battle with cancer. Flo was born on February 11, 1939 in Walsh, CO to her parents, Clarence and Almeda (Robinson) Jordan. Flo spent 44 of her 84 years in the Canon City, CO area. Flo worked in law enforcement and then as a realtor. She was a member of the Royal Gorge Realtor Association. She led a life of service as she helped with raising some of her siblings, spent two years in the United States Navy and then followed the Lord's calling in whichever direction He led her. Family was always a huge priority to Flo. She loved bringing her family together whenever possible. She organized many outings and retreats for both her biological family and for her Christian family. She was an active participant at the Connect Church in Canon City and had served with several churches in our area, including Evangelical Free Church. She also attended and then served on Walk to Emmaus ministry. Flo helped organize and implement the Celebrate Women celebration held here at Veterans Park.
Flo was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, Bobby Dean Harrell and Larry Orona; brothers, Robert Lee Jordan, Walter Ray Jordan, Vernon Clarence Jordan, Leon Malcom Hiner and Monte Joe Hiner.
Flo leaves behind her daughters, Shelly Raylynn (Kenny) Fulton and Shirley LeeAnne Harrell; her grandson, Cody Jordan Dornhecker, who was her greatest pleasure and enjoyment here on earth; granddaughter, Katelynn (Nathan) Gray and their children, Everly Caroline and Lainey Willow who were also very special to her. Also surviving are her brothers, Arlen Glen Hiner, Dayle Franklin Hiner and Earl Herschel Hiner.
Flo chose cremation and entrusted her final needs to Holt Family Funeral Home. There will be a celebration of her life at The Evangelical Free Church: 3000 E. Main St in Canon City on Friday, November 3rd at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, Flo requested donations be made to the "Missions Fund" at Connect Church.
