Obituary
Frances Ellen Amen was born on December 11, 1931, to Pearl and Sam Merlino. She passed away peacefully on May 6, 2023.
She lived in Canon City, Colorado her whole life of 91 years, graduating from St. Scholastica Academy. In 1950 Fran married Harry Amen Jr. Fran and Harry went on to have a daughter and son. Fran worked in various medical offices in the area as a medical assistant, while Harry worked for Emmerson Furniture Store. Upon their retirement, they cared for Pearl and Sam and enjoyed all their time with family and friends. Fran was very active for many years at St. Michaels Church, while also pursuing her passion quilting providing many happy memories in her quilts and time to her family and friends to enjoy for many years, she also passed on this knowledge and skill to anyone who wanted to learn.
Fran was proceeded in death by her parents, husband, and son, Rick. She is survived by her daughter, Diane (David Smith) Amen; grandson, Brandon (Kyle) Barrargree; great-grandsons, Connor and Keegan Barrargree; sister, Marilyn (Tony) Girodo; brother, David (Alyce) Merlino; sister-in-law, Phyllis (Joe) Duca; and many loved nieces and nephews. Also, her wonderful caregivers who were with her every day for over 4 years, Doug and Mercedes Kline.
