Gail Owen passed away on January 6, 2022. She was born in Baltimore, Maryland on March 10, 1950, the daughter of Ervin and Rosalie Harrison.
She moved to Colorado Springs when she was 4 years old and graduated from Wasson High School in 1968. She lived in several places, ranging from Korea to Texline, TX where she met the love of her life, Charlie Owen. Gail and Charlie loved fishing and enjoyed the RV lifestyle traveling throughout the lower 48 states. She adored being a mom to her two children and took pride in their many accomplishments. She was a delightful grandmother to her grandkids, and they all loved her deeply. After the loss of Charlie, she moved to Canon City where she enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She enjoyed attending The Free Church in Canon City until the pandemic prevented in-person attendance, but that didn’t stop the way that she lived her faith. She loved serving and caring for the people around her, from her family to the residents that she worked with at the Assisted Living Center in Canon City. Gail had the gentlest way with the people around her.
She leaves behind her brother, James Harrison; her children, Christina Salzmann and Dennis (Polly) Salzmann; her stepdaughter, Edie (Rich) Wyn; 10 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and numerous cousins and friends. She is preceded in death by her mother and father; her brother, Gary Harrison; and her husband, Charlie.
The family requests, in lieu of flowers, that donations be made to The American Cancer Society at https://www.cancer.org/involved/donate.html.
