Gary Lee Daniels Sr. was born to Howard and Helen Daniels on November 24th, 1947 in Canon City Colorado. He passed away at the age of 76 in Canon City on December 15th, 2023. Gary is preceded in death by his parents, his brother Fred Daniels, his sister Mary Brown, and his sister Judy Cannaday. Gary is survived by his wife of 53 years, Geneva Daniels, his sister Karen Vallaster, and his five children: DeeDee Jackson, Gary Daniels Jr., Tammy Crane, John Daniels, and Adam Daniels. As well as several nieces and nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
He loved hunting, fishing, and everything outdoors, he loved Locke Mountain and Lake DeWeese. He was a veteran of the United States Army and Navy, he served his country from 1964 to 1968 in the Army and then again from 1972 to 1974 in the Navy. Gary and Geneva settled back down in Canon City in 1974, they lived and raised their family in and around Fremont County for the remainder of his life.
Military Honors will be held on Friday, January 12th,2024 at Mountain Vail Memorial Park (Mausoleum Wall) 1700 Chestnut St. Canon City at 10:15 am.
Pot luck and refreshments will be at the VFW Hall 215 N. Cottonwood Ave in Canon City from 11:00 to 2:00 pm.
