Georgia Young

Georgia was born on March 1, 1927, in Santana, Kansas to Millard and Effie Decker and passed away on July 3, 2021, in Pueblo, Colorado. She resided in Florence, and in Pueblo Colorado. Georgia married Emerson Griffin on June 14, 1944, and they divorced in 1962. She married Harry Evans on February 5, 1967, and was widowed in 1985. She then married Robert Young on May 25, 1991. Georgia had six children with Emerson; Diane Wurst, Donna Cullen, Duane Griffin, Dorleen Vaughn, Connie Ziolkowski, and Dale Griffin.

Georgia and Bob spent many winters in Yuma, Arizona. They enjoyed traveling in their motorhome and especially enjoyed their trip to Alaska. They recently moved into the Primrose Retirement Community in Pueblo, Colorado.

Georgia was a 25-year member of the DAR.

Georgia is survived by five children along with her husband Robert Young, 4 stepchildren, 15 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren. Georgia was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Gale Decker and son, Duane Griffin.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 10, 2021, at the United Methodist Church in Florence, Colorado, with viewing from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Union Highland Cemetery in Florence, Colorado. In lieu of flowers please donate to Bristol Hospice in Pueblo, Colorado.
