Ida Trujillo Obituary

Ida “Iileen” Squire was born on December 18, 1948, to Frank and Evelyn Squire, lifelong cattle ranchers in Hillside, Colorado. Iileen graduated from Cotopaxi High School in 1967 and later from the Parks School of Business in Denver in 1968 as a certified dental hygienist.

Iileen married her high school sweetheart Frank Trujillo in 1969, together they raised three sons. Iileen chose to be a stay-at-home mother until her sons reached adulthood. She then dedicated her time and talents to geriatrics care and served as the Activities Director for several senior living facilities in the Denver Metro area. Iileen and Frank moved back to their beloved Hillside in 2001 following Frank’s retirement from the IBM Corporation.

Iileen was a kind and gentle person and loved by everyone, especially the elderly and senior people she served so well. Iileen was an artist and painter, she loved the quiet peace of the outdoor country living.

She is survived by two sons, Luke of Telluride, CO and Dan of Arvada, CO; sister, Evelyn Holt of Woodville, TX; brother, Bill Squire of Penrose, CO; and 5 dearly loved grandchildren, Nash, Reese, Luka, Chase, and Cora. Her son Douglas preceded her in death in 2014.

Due to Covid implications, the family is planning a summer memorial, conditions permitting. The family encourages, in lieu of flowers, that contributions be made to Penrose-St. Francis Heart and Vascular Center at 2222 N. Nevada Ave. Colorado Springs, Colorado 80908.
