Inez Enlow Obituary

Inez Marie Christianson Enlow, 101, passed away December 28, 2020, in Canon City, Colorado.  Inez was born December 21, 1919, in Farmersburg, Iowa, to Enoch Christianson and Alma Marie Schrader Christianson.

At age six, her family moved to Colorado Springs from Iowa.   She attended Colorado Springs schools, graduating from Colorado Springs High School in 1937.  In 1939, she met Donald Enlow at a church youth group skating party where she said she took Donald’s hand and never let go.  They were married 74 years when Don passed away.

Inez was a homemaker until 1953 when she went to work at Alexander Film Company in Colorado Springs.   In 1958, Inez began working for School District 11 as an elementary school secretary and retired in 1980.  Inez was the secretary at Queen Palmer Elementary School for 20 years.

In 1972, Don and Inez completed building their dream home in Divide, Colorado, where they lived until retirement in 1983. Afterward, they moved between Canon City and Pueblo and wintered in Quartzite, Arizona for 17 years.   When they could no longer travel, they moved to The Village at Skyline in Canon City where they enjoyed their remaining golden years together with new friends.

Inez has been a resident of Skyline Ridge Nursing Home for 7-1/2 years.  Her family thanks the staff of Skyline Nursing Home and Dr. Chris Buchanan for the loving care they took of Inez during that time.  With planning by the staff at Skyline, Inez celebrated her 101st birthday on December 21 with a cake and 101 red roses.  Staff members took a video so that family could enjoy the day with her due to Covid-19 quarantine, a loving tribute within a week of her passing.

In December, 2015, Inez’s husband, Don, preceded her in death along with her brother, Lorenz Christianson in 2005.  She is survived by two daughters, Kathy Lambert, of Pueblo, Donna (Jack) Bogusch, of Canon City; three grandchildren, Shari Lambert Thorne (Jon), of Florissant, Colorado, Kevin (Laura) Bogusch, of DuBois, Pennsylvania, Robert (Leah) Bogusch, of Albuquerque, New Mexico; four great-grandchildren, Austin and Caitlan Thorne and Josh and Kenzie Bogusch; sister-in-law, Lois Ball, of Amarillo, Texas; three nieces and one nephew.

A graveside service will be held for Inez at Memorial Gardens in Colorado Springs on January 8, 2021.
