James Dale DeWitt departed this life on October 24, 2025 in his home in Penrose, Colorado. He was born July 31, 1931 in Woodruff County Arkansas to Homer and Goldie(McNew) DeWitt and was proceeded in death by his wife Charmaine M (Sass) DeWitt, his brothers: Harvey, Chester, Clarence, Arnold, Gilbert and Charles and his sisters: Ruby and Conita. He is survived by his daughter Susan (DeWitt) Gregory, son David DeWitt and grand daughter Meghan (Gregory) Mendoza. While serving his country in the military in 1948, he was stationed in Beppu Japan with the medical company 19th Infantry, 24th Infantry Division. In June 1950 during the Korean War, he was assigned to Company C, 19th Infantry Regiment as a company medic. His Combat combat decorations include: the Combat Medical Badge, Silver Star, Bronze Star and Purple Heart. Other decorations include: the Airforce Commendation Medal, Army of Occupation Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Korean Service Medal wth 3 Battle Stars, United Nations Service Medal, Rebublic of Korea Service Medal, Distinguished Presidential Unit Citation, Rebublic of Korea Presidential Unit Citation, Good Conduct Medal (5 awards), Airforce Outstanding Unit award and the Airforce Longevity service Award. Internment of Cremains of James and Charmaine at a Later date.
