Our family has experienced the tragic sudden unexpected loss of our son James Chess
Shoub. James meant so much to everyone. He brought smiles and laughter to all of
our hearts. All of his friends and family thought of him as a gentle giant. He was an
amazing son, brother, nephew and grandson. James had many passions including
hiking, camping, fishing and playing video games. However, his favorite thing was
spending time with his grandfather working on leather or forging metal. James, we love
and miss you every minute of every day. You are gone but never forgotten and always
in our hearts. We were not prepared for you to leave, but you did not go alone… you
took a part of us with you when God called you home. Rest in peace my sweet boy.
James is preceded in death by his grandfather Clarence William Chess. He is
survived by his parents Christine and Chance Turner, Brother Wyatt Turner,
Grandmother Paula Chess of Canon City, Grandmother Connie Glanzer of Kansas City,
Kansas, Uncle Shane Turner of Kansas City, Kansas, Uncle Dick “DJ” Chess of Canon
City, along with his children Bailey and Jerome Chess, Aunt and Uncle Michele and
Eric Harris along with their children Mason and Sawyer Harris.
