Janet Marianne Carson

Janet (Jelemensky) Carson passed away December 29, 2020.  She was born May 7, 1940 in St. Johns, Michigan to John and Mary (Remenar) Jelemensky. She was 80 years old.

She grew up on a farm in Michigan and was the fourth child of five children. She married Edward Carson in 1957 and they moved to Florida. He preceded her in death on January 21, 1992. She was also preceded in death by her parents, John and Mary Jelemensky, four brothers, John (Jean) Jelemensky of Flint, Michigan, Peter and Steve Jelemensky, both of Sarasota, FL and Joseph (Laura) Jelemensky of Austin Texas, as well as one son, Raymond Joseph Carson and grandson, John William Carson.

Janet lived in Colorado at different times of her life but made it her final home in 2010. She lived in Woodland Park and eventually moved to Canon City to be closer to her Colorado family. She attended St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Canon City. She most recently worked for Hildebrand Home Care, a job that she loved because it allowed her to care for others. During her lifetime she has worked in the food industry, owned several restaurants including a truck stop and two ice cream shops, and later served as an office manager at a major patio furniture plant in Bradenton, FL. She loved the outdoors and specifically her beloved Rocky Mountains. She would often go hiking or camping in a wilderness area. One of her favorite times of the year was watching the aspen trees as they changed colors in the fall.

She is survived by her three children, daughter, Debbie (Keith) Hawkins of Murphy, NC, and sons, Ed Carson of Newport, TN, and Bill (Traci) Carson of Canon City, CO. She also leaves behind grandchildren; Joseph Rodriguez of Canon City, CO, Jessie (Chris) Seabolt of Clinton, TN, Jaimee (Marlon) Williams of Charlotte, NC, Cassey (Tyler) Cheesman of Canon City, CO, Jennifer Carson of Morristown, TN, Tommy (Breanna) Carson of Canon City, CO,Tim Carson of Knoxville, TN,Tabatha Carson of Arcadia, FL, step-grandchildren that she loved as her own; Ralph (Missy) Rodriguez and Eric (Jamie) Rodriguez of Georgia, Justin (Brittney Ivey) Briggs of Jefferson City, TN, and Chris (Luci) Ourk of Sarasota, FL, She also leaves behind three special daughters-in-law Susan Carson of Morristown, TN, Nora Ourk of Sarasota and Peggy Strassle of Arcadia, FL, sixteen great-grandchildren, and many other special nieces and nephews.

There will be a private memorial service at a later date in Woodland Park, Colorado.
