Janet Posey

Janet Elaine (Venette) Posey of Canon City, CO entered eternal rest on October 21,2023. Janet was born on November 4, 1942 in Boulder, CO to Toots and Elmer Venette. She grew up on a dairy farm in Broomfield, CO and graduated from Lafayette High School in 1959. Janet is survived by her husband of 63 years Robert Posey; daughters, Robin Lambrecht, Erica (Andy) Hildebrand; brothers, Jim (Pat) Venette, Paul (Anita) Venette; and 7 beautiful grandchildren and one great-grandson.  Janet was a long time resident of Canon City and worked at Canon Floral, Shoes and Things, St. Scholastica Academy and Starpoint Early Learning Center. Janet was preceded in death by her daughter, Lori (O’Bannon) Shephard; grandsons, Bryan Scott Lambrecht and Thomas Shayne O’Bannon. To honor Janet’s memory we are holding a celebration of life at Wilson Funeral Home, 1449 S. 9th Street in Canon City on Friday, October 27 at 1:00.  In lieu of flowers please donate in Janet’s memory to Star Point Early Learning Center https://www.starpointco.com/donate/.
