Janis Jane Grimes

Janis Jane Grimes , born on August 25, 1941, in Goron, Missouri, passed away peacefully on June 25, 2025, in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She was 83 years old.

Janis was a devoted homemaker whose life centered around caring for her family and creating a warm and welcoming home. Her love for crafts reflected her creativity and attention to detail, and she found joy in making things beautiful with her hands. Those who knew her will remember her deep affection for her family and friends, which remained constant throughout her life.

She shared 60 cherished years of marriage with her beloved husband, Byron “Barney” Grimes, who preceded her in death. Together they built a life rooted in love and commitment that served as an enduring example to those around them.

Janis is lovingly remembered by her daughters Rhonda (Michael) Beel and Renee (Mike) Cross; grandchildren Joshua Lindley, Nathan Beel, Rachel Cross, Ashley Combs, and Jason Cross; step-grandchildren Maretta Characky, Brendan Beel, and Corey Beel; and five great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her step-grandson Danny Beel.

Her legacy lives on through the generations of family she nurtured with care and devotion. May her memory bring comfort to all who knew and loved her.
