Jerry Taylor Obituary

Jerry Lynn Taylor, 63, was born in Salida, Colorado, the fourth of four boys. He passed away suddenly at home on December 14, 2025. He was known for his quick wit, infectious sense of humor, and ability to make those around him laugh. He was well liked by many and leaves behind memories that will be shared with a smile.

Jerry dedicated 32 years of his life working as a diesel mechanic for the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) in Colorado Springs, where he and his family resided. More than his career, Jerry cherished the time spent outdoors with his children, indulging in his favorite activities: 4-wheeling in the mountains, hunting, fishing, and camping. He was happiest just relaxing and spending quality time with his family. After retiring in December 2021, he and Laura moved to Rockvale, CO where his helpful and generous nature shone brightly. He was known for assisting family, neighbors, and new friends with various odd jobs and small projects, always willing to lend a hand and share his skills. He was a kind and devoted man whose presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Laura whom he married in 1991; and their four sons, Clayton, Cody (Lisa), Craig and Kyle; and his granddaughters, Albah, Cady and Lila Taylor. He is also survived by his brothers, Alan and Bruce Taylor; and numerous cherished nieces and nephews.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Gene and Ruth Taylor; and his brother, Leonard Taylor.

Visitation and reception will be held on Monday, December 22, 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. at  Wilson Memorial Chapel: 1449 S. 9th Street, Cañon City, Colorado.

A Father's Love ("A limb has fallen from the family tree...")

"A limb has fallen from the family tree,

I keep hearing a voice that says, 'Grieve not for me.'

Remember the best times, the laughter, the song,

The good life I lived while I was strong.
