Jimmy Lee Zeleznikar, 59, went to be with the Lord on May 2, 2022. He was born on December 18, 1962, in Salida, Colorado to Martin “Spotty” and Cheryl Zeleznikar.
He was raised in Leadville, Colorado, before enlisting in the U.S. Navy, serving his country from 1981 to 1985. He moved to Canon City in 2001, working for Fremont County Road and Bridge as a supervisor. Jimmy loved the Lord and loved sharing about Jesus and his faith. He enjoyed going out to dinner with his wife and grilling meat for his family, always trying out different spices and marinades.
Jimmy is survived by his wife, Desiree, of 14 and a half years; son, Brandon (Felecia); stepchildren, Brandon (Ruthie), Devin (Cassie), Bryson (Krista), Lashea, Drake (Ariel), Dante, Kalyssa, and Baiza; ten grandchildren; mother, Cheryl Zeleznikar; siblings, Johnny (Tina), Kenny (Mary), Martin (Krista), Susie (Jay), and Carrie; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his father.
Jimmy will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
A memorial service will be held at 5:30 PM on Tuesday, May 10, 2022, at Wilson Funeral Home: 1449 S. 9th St. in Canon City, with a reception to follow at the VFW: 215 N. Cottonwood Ave.
