JoAnn Beserany Obituary

JoAnn Beserany was born in Brooklyn, New York, on February 25, 1946, and at the age of 79, she
passed away peacefully on May 1, 2025, in Colorado Springs, Colorado. JoAnn spent her
younger years in Brooklyn, and after getting married, she moved to Margaretville, New York,
with her husband, Edward Conticelli, to start a family. They later moved to Pueblo, Colorado,
where they lived for 4 years. She returned to Brooklyn to be with her daughter and care for her
aging father. Recently, she moved back to Colorado to be closer to her son in her final years.
JoAnn was a beloved mother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend, known for her warm heart,
creative spirit, and deep love for her family, friends, and animals. A compassionate animal lover,
she cared deeply for her own cats and dogs over the years, and she never hesitated to show
affection to any furry companion she met along the way. JoAnn nurtured and maintained
relationships with friends and family near and far, a unique trait in this modern age. She loved a
good party and was always ready for an adventure.

JoAnn was known for her creativity and love of crocheting as well as other arts and crafts. She
was always looking for an excuse to accessorize anything she could with a feather, a bead, or
whatever else she had on hand. She made countless blankets and other crocheted goods that
she enthusiastically gifted to friends and family.

JoAnn is survived by her son, Adam Conticelli (Morgan Conticelli); her daughter, Amanda
Conticelli; her sister, Eleanor Farkouh; nephews William Farkouh (Stacy Farkouh) and Chris
Farkouh (Lenore Farkouh); nieces Janine Kieran (Brian Kieran) and Denise Vento (Larry Vento);
and cousin/bestie Loretta Attara. She was preceded in death by her beloved sister, Marilyn
Mahfouz, and her parents Gabe and Louise Beserany.

JoAnn will be remembered for her kindness, sense of humor, and the lasting connections she
built throughout her life. A private memorial will be held by the family at a later date. In lieu of
flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in her memory.
