Jody Purvis (Jacobsen), 68, of Florence, Colorado, passed away on April 22, 2026.
Jody was born and raised in New Milford, New Jersey. After high school, she made her way to Colorado, where she met the love of her life and built a life centered around family, laughter, and resilience.
Over the years, Jody wore many hats. She spent time working at J&J’s Convenience Store before finding her place at Rocky Mountain Bank and Trust, where she began as a teller and later became an Operations Manager. She took pride in her work and the relationships she built along the way.
Outside of work, Jody found joy in the simple, creative things. She was an avid crafter who spent countless hours crocheting, cross stitching, and needlepointing. She also loved getting lost in a good book, especially the works of Stephen King.
Jody will be remembered most for her contagious laugh, her deep love for her family, and the strength she carried through life. She created a home filled with warmth, and the memories she leaves behind will continue to live on in those who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Dennis Purvis; her children, Denise Jennings (Craig), Elizabeth Purvis (Rob), and Heather Purvis; and her grandchildren, Mackenzie (Brandley) Hess, Alyson (Chris) Manzano, Saige Worland, and Stephen Zylstra.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Donald, and his life partner, Kyle.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Jody’s honor to Lung Cancer Colorado Fund.
