Johnny Raymond Madril

Johnny "John" Madril went home to be with the Lord on September 13, 2022. He was 61 years old and is survived by his mother Hope, brother David, sister-in-law Holly, and sister Carolyn. He was preceded in death by his father Alonzo "Al". John also adored his niece Melissa and nephew Corey. John had a special relationship with Esther Romero, who offered him much comfort and assistance in many difficult times. In turn, John was totally devoted to this special lady in so many wonderful ways.

John was born at Langley AFB in Hampton Virginia, attended St. Michaels elementary school and The Abbey School (all boys college preparatory high school) and graduated as the salutatorian. He served in the United States Air Force where he worked on F-111 fighter aircraft electronic systems. For the last 12 years he worked at JCPenney as a seasoned retail professional specializing in men's fashions.

John enjoyed cleaning and detailing cars to perfection. He also liked learning how to work on and fixing mechanical things (and buying the tools to get the job done). He had a wonderful personality and liked to take care of his family, friends and adopted pet dog, Bandit. He had a big heart and would help anyone who asked and sometimes would even seek out those he thought needed help that wouldn't ask. He was non-confrontational, patient, and looked for the good in all situations. He was a very rare individual whose special smile let you know he was there and did care. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

A funeral service will be held at Holt Family Funeral Home, 806 Macon Ave., Canon City, Colorado 81212, on Thursday, September 22, 2022 at 2:00pm.
