Juanita Guilmette

Juanita Guilmette passed away January 26, 2026 in Canon City, CO. She was born Juanita Andrea Trujillo on March 26, 1928, in Saguache, CO. Juanita graduated from Western State College in Gunnison, CO with a B.A. degree in Education/Art.  She taught grade school in La Junta, CO where she met and married her husband of over 40 years, Kenneth W. Guilmette.  She is survived by four of her children, a younger sister, six grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband and four of her children.

Juanita was a long-time parishioner of St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Canon City, CO.  She enjoyed reading, puzzles, nature, gardening, drawing, and opera.  Juanita was bilingual, speaking Spanish and English.

Funeral Mass will be at 10a.m on Tuesday, February 3, 2026 at St Michael Catholic Church: 1016 Mystic Ave Canon City. Interment to follow at Mountain Vale Memorial Gardens.
