Kyle Clasby Obituary

Kyle Preston Clasby was born on November 3, 1990, in Pueblo, Colorado and joined his Savior and loved ones in heaven on November 7, 2023, at his home in Florence, Colorado.  Kyle attended grade school in Trinidad, Colorado, then attended Middle School and High School in Pueblo West, Colorado, graduating in 2009.  He later completed his associate degree in Welding at Pueblo Community College.  Kyle proudly served his country as Lance Corporal in the U.S. Marine Corps and was honorably discharged as a disabled veteran.

Kyle owned and operated several successful companies in his short but very ambitious life, most recently Machete Excavation, doing excavation work and installing septic systems all around Southern Colorado.  He was a very hard worker and had a heart bigger than his 6 ft. 4 in. frame could hold, very often doing work for families in need at his own expense.  Kyle loved to cook on his grill, smoking meats, and cooking pretty much anything that he could in a cast iron skillet.  He enjoyed feeding friends and family at his home on a frequent basis.  Kyle found the love of his life, Tera Slaski, and married her on June 16, 2021.  Tera and his beloved daughter, Scarlett, were his everything and he was a wonderful, loving, and caring husband, father and son.  He worked hard to make as many dreams come true for his “girls.”  Kyle also loved animals with a big heart, including his three dogs, three cats, several chickens, ducks, geese, turkeys, and peacocks.

Kyle is survived by his mother, Christine Egland of Pueblo, Colorado; his wife, Tera Clasby of Florence, Colorado; and his daughter, Scarlett Clasby of Pueblo, Colorado, who he very affectionately called “Monkey” or “Monk” for short; aunt and uncle Tina and Lee Cook, and cousins Joel, Kevin, Nathan and Daniel Cook of Rockvale, Colorado.  Father-in-law Sean (Gabe) Slaski, sisters-in-law Veronica (Robert) Baker and Caden (Dusty) Patterson, and brother-in-law Eion Slaski, and nephews Sean Patterson and Robert Baker, Jr. all of Wisconsin.  Kyle is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents David and Phyllis Egland, and cousins Matthew and Leona Cook, and mother-in-law Calie Slaski.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 18, 2023, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Holt Family Funeral Home in Cañon City, Colorado.  Memorial services will be held on Sunday, November 19, 2023, at 11 a.m. at Pathfinder Park Event Center in Florence, Colorado to be followed by a luncheon reception.  Inurnment at Union Highland Cemetery to be held at a later date.  Donations may be made, in lieu of flowers, to the family through Holt Family Funeral Home.
