Lauren M. Allen of Houston, Texas, and a global citizen, passed away on Wednesday, March 5, 2025. She was a dedicated daughter, sister, cousin, niece, and a loyal friend. Her kindness and empathy significantly contributed to making the world a better place. Lauren, born into a family with a strong commitment to education and personal development, upheld the tradition established by her grandparents. They instilled in her a habit of inquiry and intellectual expansion. Each day was seen as an opportunity for learning, writing, and exploring the world, both through literature and direct engagement with nature.
An alumna of Harvey Mudd College, Lauren majored in engineering and studied humanities, social sciences, and arts. She later attended the School of Massage Therapy in Texas, focusing on integrative medicine for children and adults. In addition to her professional accomplishments, Lauren was renowned for her generosity and selflessness, consistently prioritizing the needs of others above her own. She had a passion for crafting unique jewelry, writing poetry, traveling to exotic locations, mentoring and tutoring young people, and spending time outdoors. Her adventurous spirit was equaled only by her unwavering dedication to her family.
Lauren is survived by her father, James Allen; brothers, Thaddeus Allen and Gian Allen; cousin and play brother, Elijah Gray; nephew, Leo Allen; step-mother, MaryAnn Allen; sister-in- law, Lena Allen; and numerous relatives and friends who will remember her empathy, laughter, and unconditional love. She was predeceased by her beloved mother, Connie Sterling Allen, along with her maternal and paternal grandparents and aunts, all of whom she deeply loved. While her passing leaves a substantial void, her spirit remains in the cherished memories of those who knew her.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, March 23rd at the Smyrna Seventh-day Adventist Church in Houston, Texas. At a later time, the family will convene privately to scatter her ashes in one of her favored travel destinations. In lieu of traditional remembrances, memorial contributions may be made in Lauren’s honor to the Massage for Peace Initiative - Touch Method Massage, , enabling children affected by trauma to heal, which reflects her lifelong commitment to helping others..
Lauren's enduring legacy of love, generosity, and strength will continue to inspire all who had the honor of knowing her. She will be profoundly missed but her memory will remain everlasting.
