Laurnell E. Betz

Laurnell E. Betz, 99, died July 23, 2023, in Canon City, CO.  She was born May 13, 1924, in Bragdon, CO to David and Effie Firth.  She was the youngest of 5 children.

She married Merle D Betz on Dec. 22, 1943, in Raton, New Mexico.

She was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in 1940 and was very active in the Canon City South Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses.  She enjoyed talking to people in the door-to-door ministry about the Bible and the hope it holds out for mankind.

She very much enjoyed being outdoors enjoying Jehovah’s creation.

She is survived by children, Rebecca (Phil) Johnson, Lavonne (Jim) Tolliver, Deborah Williams, Nathaniel (Carolyn) Betz, Rachel (Mike) Chavez & Jonathan (Margie) Betz.

Laurnell had 9 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, 9 great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.

A memorial service will be held Sept. 16, 2023, @ 2 pm at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses 1314 S 9th St Canon City, CO.  It will also be available via zoom.
