Lawrence Nichols Obituary

Lawrence Earl Nichols, 78, a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend, passed away on November 22, 2024, in Williamsburg, Colorado. Born on December 31, 1945, in Okemah, Oklahoma to Roy Nichols and Marjorie (Margie) Marie Grant.

He married Linda Kay Hodges September 15,1969 and they made their home in Okemah, Oklahoma.

Lawrence served in the Army during the Vietnam War, where he received the National Defense Service, Vietnam Campaign, Sharpshooter, Vietnam Service and Good Conduct Medals. He worked in the oil fields, drove trucks, was an equipment operator and did other miscellaneous jobs before moving to Canon City, Colorado in 1989.

Lawrence was an avid fishing enthusiast and enjoyed fishing on a pond, lake or reservoir. He also enjoyed hunting and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his sister, Susan (Curtis) Rachels; sons, Jim (Marcia) Nichols, Curt (Tracey) Nichols; grandsons, Cody (Kylie) Nichols, Aaron (Summer) Nichols, Bowie Gregg; granddaughters, Jordain Nichols, Morgan Nichols; great-granddaughters, Stori, Valli, Savannah; great-grandsons Christian, Thomas (Tommy) and arriving soon Finnley; and nephew, PR Martin.

Lawrence was preceded in death by his wife, Linda; father, Roy; mother, Margie; and an infant son and great-granddaughter Aliyah.

Lawrence is greatly missed by his family and friends.

A celebration of life will be held next spring in Okemah, Oklahoma.
