Lenora "Cathy" Whitehair, age 91, passed away peacefully on July 1, 2025, in Canon City, Colorado. Born on September 3, 1933, in Arkansas, she lived a long and full life marked by resilience, devotion to family, and a love for the simple joys of life.
Cathy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Clarence. She is lovingly remembered by her daughters Sharon (Rick) Santisteven and Carolyn (Peter) Blackett. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren: Adam, Jason, Jackie, and Jennie.
A woman of deep faith, Cathy was a devoted member of the Catholic Church. Her spiritual strength was a guiding light throughout her life and brought comfort to those around her.
For the past 25 years, Cathy made her home at Skyline Village in Canon City. There, she built lasting friendships and became a cherished part of the community. She found joy in playing bingo and making trips to Cripple Creek. An avid lover of the outdoors, Cathy enjoyed fishing and camping—activities that reflected her adventurous spirit and appreciation for nature’s beauty.
Cathy’s ambition and determination were evident throughout her life. Whether spending time with family or enjoying quiet moments in nature, she approached each day with purpose and heart.
Memorial mass will be held at St. Michael Catholic Church in Canon City on Thursday, July 10, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Mountain Vale Cemetery.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Sangre de Cristo Hospice for their compassionate care and to Skyline Ridge for their exceptional support during Cathy’s final days.
